Robert Ward, DVM

DR. ROBERT WARD was born in northwest Montana, and grew up on a farm. His first dream was to become a physician, but at age 12, his love of animals and interest in 4-H drew him to veterinary medicine.

He attended Northern Montana College, and graduated from Montana State University with a degree in microbiology. While in school, he also worked in lumber mills, a cheese plant, veterinary hospitals, and his uncle's cattle ranch. Dr. Ward earned his DVM at Washington State University in 1978, and after an internship in Simi Valley, California, worked at Fremont Veterinary Clinic in Portland Oregon.

In 1980, he partnered with Dr. Sams and purchased Hollywood Pet Hospital (then called Sandy Blvd. Veterinary Clinic) from Dr. Jack Hardesty. Dr. Ward served as president of the Portland Veterinary Medical Association in 1987-1988.

Dr. Ward limits his practice to dogs and cats, and acts as business manager for the hospital. He and his wife Donna and their son Brian live with a dog, a rabbit, and a horse.

Kevin Long, DVM

DR. KEVIN LONG was born in Central Idaho where he developed an early affinity towards animals while growing up on a cattle ranch. His lifelong desire to help animals was fostered by a childhood surrounded by animals, both large and small.

Dr. Long attended the University of Idaho and then went on to Washington State University where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Dr. Long initially practiced in Southern Idaho for six and a half years before moving to Portland in 2004.

Dr. Long and his partner live in N.E. Portland where they share their home with two dogs, two cats, a turtle and some fish. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, gardening, working on his home and boating on the Columbia River.

Robert Lambert, DVM

DR. ROBERT LAMBERT grew up in the Bay Area of California. He attended the University of California at Davis for both his undergraduate and Veterinary Medicine degrees. He received numerous awards and honors while at UC Davis, and interned in Emergency Medicine and Surgery at the prestigious California Animal Hospital.

Afterwards Dr. Lambert moved to Santa Barbara, California, to practice veterinary medicine with a focus in small animal medicine and surgery. Later he moved back to the Bay Area to be with his wife while she finished medical school and residency. During that time he won “Best Veterinarian” of Campbell, California.

Following residency, Dr. Lambert, his wife, and their Chihuahua (“Speck”) moved to Portland to be closer to friends and family. He enjoys golf, mountain biking, snowboarding and working on house projects. Dr. Lambert is looking forward to meeting all of you and your pets.
