Hollywood Pet Hospital Gets New Technology

In January, Hollywood Pet acquired two new pieces of radiographic equipment.

A new standard radiograph machine has replaced the unit we've used since the early 1970's. The new machine is more powerful, and provides better pictures, especially for our larger patients. It is also safer for the operators and has all the newest bells and whistles. Better radiographic exposures mean better diagnostic capability.

We have also added a dental radiographic machine to our dental suite. It looks and operates just like the one your dentist uses for your dental work. Dental disease is near the top of the list of health issues in older pets, and younger pets frequently have dental problems, too. With dental radiography, we can evaluate the roots of teeth as well as the related structures to provide more thorough dental care for pets.

We also recently acquired blood pressure diagnostic and monitoring equipment. Hypertension (high blood pressure) can occur as a primary disease or secondary to many other diseases. The new equipment allows us to diagnose hypertension and monitor its treatment, plus it adds another margin of safety for our anesthetized patients.
